There are many influences and opportunities we all experience that direct and motivate us in ways that eventually channel our lives into countless areas and levels of accomplishment.  We all have choices.

During my very brief stay here, it appears that I have chosen to spend my time involved with the visual arts.  It is a lifelong endeavor that has challenged me endlessly and has been a constant driving force.  The physical creation and visual presentation of my artistic ideas and creative thoughts has become the ultimate value and goal of my life.

I assign myself a "task", such as a painting or a three dimensional object based on a thought or an experience that has highly motivated me.  A "secret" unknown to me thus far,  is understanding why certain experiences "throw the switches".  This newly developed "need" to continue through with an idea until it is  completed is a mystery to me.

Like anyone, I have certain interests, likes, biases and fondness'.  These are the areas in which I choose to work.  I like oil paints because they are workable for a long time.  Other materials intrigue me as well as other processes and applications.  I like to work with sizes and materials that I can easily handle and that will allow me to manipulate  them in a way to achieve my desired results.

I spend much time failing but I look at failure as an opportunity to learn. I reevaluate the situation and then, most often, start over again, and again and again (if need be) until I get it right.  I really hold myself accountable to myself for my accomplishments.

The accomplishment of successfully completing my intended goal is the reward I get for the time and energy I spend.  I love to look at what I've done (that is, if I've done it right)  and enjoy the many many thoughts it triggers within me and gives back to me.

my work is done by me and for me.  I work to please myself.  It is difficult for me to truly achieve satisfaction from my work because I demand quite a bit.
